Four Forever Friends – Besties in Baldwin City, KS

Meet Kaley, Tayler, Abi and Elizabeth, Seniors at Baldwin High School.  These four friends are truly beautiful inside and out.  They have been inseparable since sometime around 3rd grade.

We broke the ice between them and the camera with some fun hats and the recounting of some of their crazy escapades over the years.  I was forgotten as they shared old memories, catching in the evening breeze something about Elizabeth falling out of a tree which made them laugh hysterically.

With some washable markers, they each wrote one word on each other’s arm to describe something special in her personality.

Trustworthy
Determined
Creative
Goofy
Caring

The sweet words melted away into the fountain.

Since 3rd grade they have celebrated Ab-Liz Day on August 4th and Kay-ler Day on September 18th.  These holidays are full of traditions honoring their friendship. Bacon seems to be a terribly important item to indulge in on Ab-Liz Day celebrations.  And there was the missed Kay-Ler Day last year  when Abi passed out in a track meet and the others were forced to cancel all plans and go to Build-a-Bear and make her a get-well bear.  It did the trick and she has fully recovered from her injuries.

It is really wonderful to see these gals valuing their long-standing friendship enough to memorialize it in so many creative and wonderful ways.  I know I said they were beautiful, but did I tell you they are super smart too?

  1. I am speechless. You captured the best part of these girls...true friendship. I guess these girls did learn something from their moms. These girls have #1 moms...I am proud to call all of them my friends.
