Day 57: I Need Light!

It get dark around 5 p.m. now and I miss the light! It is forcing me to take opportunities during the day to take pictures. I even think I am entering hibernation with all the soup cravings and naps.

With photography, everything is about the contrast between light and dark. When I took Foundations of Photography at JCCC, we were using 35mm cameras with black and white film. With the absence of color, you are forced to focus on lines, shapes, light intensity, shadows, etc.

While on the subject of light... I started to read Genesis again this morning and noticed the verses about how God made the light and it was good. Those verses just really popped out to me. The Gospel of John says that Jesus is the light of the world. I love that Jesus is the very thing that I crave more of this Christmas season.

Here is a picture I took yesterday on my way from Wilsey, KS, to Eudora. I thought it was one of those metal sculptures until it moved. So, of course I had to turn around and capture it!
